Where the number comes from
It is the lowest this office has genuinely placed that trip for during the last season, on two people to a room, flights excluded unless the page says otherwise.
Not a typical price. Not a target. The bottom of a range that exists.
Inside every figure on this site
- Somewhere to sleep
- Each night the page counts, at the standard the page names
- Movement within the trip
- The legs the page lists, whether that is a boat, a carriage, a coach, a short flight or a car on your own steering
- Food
- Counted meal by meal instead of hidden behind a word like half board
- Somebody showing you around
- With the hours attached, because half a day means four different things to four different companies
- Getting in
- On several of these the entry charges are a large slice of the total

- A supplement, and it is not a rounding error. On the Canadian loop it is nearly a second room; on the Atlantic islands trip it is zero, because the supplier holds singles at the shared rate

- The basis every figure on this site assumes
- Three or four in one room
- Usually cheaper each, sometimes free below a stated age, and occasionally impossible because the room has four walls and two beds
- A child
- Priced at a fraction by some, at full by others, refused below an age by a third group. Whichever applies is on the trip page
- Six and up
- On four of these it is what releases the printed figure, because the boat, the carriage or the vehicle divides by heads
- One head fewer
- On group trips everybody left pays more. It is written on every page where it can happen, before you collect a deposit from anyone
What this office adds to the bill
Nothing, at any stage. Not for the first conversation, not for the research, not for the booking, not for the fourth version after your dates moved.
Income arrives from the supplier's own margin once you are back. One consequence is worth saying out loud: the dearer room earns this office no more than the plainer one, so a recommendation has nothing behind it except the recommendation.
Whose bank account
Each supplier's, directly. This website has no checkout, keeps no card and carries no field that would take one. Your tickets and your receipt come from them, and their terms decide what happens if the trip is called off.
